The WWE reportedly had big plans for Charlotte Flair before she decided to go on a hiatus.
Flair was written off TV during the June 22, 2020 edition of WWE RAW after she was viciously assaulted backstage by Nia Jax resulting in an injury. In reality, Flair had requested time off in order to undergo surgery.
According to Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, the WWE had been building towards a long-term rivalry between Flair and Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Flair’s hiatus put these plans on hold.
Charlotte Flair is one of the most accomplished and prolific superstars on the WWE’s roster right now. A Royal Rumble winner and multiple-time world champ who has headlined various marquee pay-per-view events including 2019’s Wrestlemania 35.
