Giovanni was one of the WWE’s most featured female talents during 2004 and 2005. A fan favorite during her time on Smackdown, Giovanni’s WWE run may have been short but it was certainly a memorable one.

Women’s PW takes a look back at Joy Giovanni’s WWE career as well as what she is doing now.

WWE Career

Giovanni burst onto the scene as a finalist in the 2004 RAW Diva Search contest. Although not victorious, she was quickly snapped up by the WWE and immediately featured on the Smackdown brand. In her time there she would notably feud with Amy Weber, as well as being the focus of a major storyline also involving Big Show, JBL and Kurt Angle. At WWE’s 2005 No Way Out pay-per-view event, she would defeat Michelle McCool, Rochelle Loewen, and Lauren Jones to become 2005 Rookie Diva of the Year. She would leave the organization in July of 2005.

What happened next?

Giovanni would feature in WWE’s 2006 video game “Smackdown vs. Raw”. In 2007 she starred as June in the film “Pretty Cool Too”. Giovanni made a brief return to the WWE in 2009 to compete in the infamous Miss WrestleMania battle royal at WrestleMania 25. This would be her final appearance in the professional wrestling industry.

The 42-year-old is now a businesswoman who resides in San Diego, California. She currently runs a psychic medium business in which she focuses on healing one’s body, mind, and spirit. She offers readings, coaching, meditation classes, and lots more. On September 15, Joy will be starting a new online course focused on self-healing and soul growth – click HERE to sign up.
