It has been exactly 36 years to the day that Wendi Richter captured her first WWE Women’s Championship.

It was on July 23, 1984, that Wendi Richter defeated The Fabulous Moolah in the main event of “The Brawl To End It All” in Madison Square Garden to capture the WWE Women’s Championship. The victory saw Richter put an end to what was billed as a “28-year championship reign” for The Fabulous Moolah. Richter was notably accompanied by Cyndi Lauper & David Wolff for the match, whilst Moolah was accompanied by Lou Albano.
