Reports have surfaced providing an update on RAW superstar Kairi Sane’s WWE status.
Sane has been absent from TV since the June 1 episode of WWE Raw in which she suffered a deep cut to her head after being tossed into the steel steps by Nia Jax.
In a recent report by Fightful Select, it was said that Sane’s status within the company was “pretty complicated”. Even before she suffered the injury, the WWE planned to send her to Japan to serve as an ambassador for the company.
Fightful noted they asked if the role was part of the organization’s ‘global localisation’ scheme which was to see them launch an NXT Japan band. The outlet were told any plans to expand into Japan were on hold because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, the WWE tried to purchase Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate. The organization was hoping to use the promotions as a platform to launch NXT Japan, but both companies rejected the offers.
The report did go on to note even if Sane takes up an ambassador role with the WWE, the organization still wants her to continue wrestling.
