Impact Wrestling have fired Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the world title.
Impact Wrestling announced on Thursday evening that they have terminated the contract of Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact World Championship.
“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.” the organization said in an official statement.
Blanchard won the Impact World Championship this past January at the Hard to Kill PPV after defeating Sami Callihan. She became the first woman to win the title.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been stuck in Mexico due to the pandemic and as a result missed several empty arena TV tapings.
Blanchard has also had several allegations of racism and bullying made against her by fellow female wrestlers. WWE NXT Superstar Chelsea Green, former NWA world women’s champion Allysin Kay, Priscilla Kelly, Mae Young Classic competitor Renee Michelle, AEW’s Shanna and former Impact Wrestling star Tanea Brooks have all previously come forward to speak out against Blanchard’s behaviour.
