Stephanie McMahon recently reminisced about the WWE female legends she used to enjoy watching whilst growing up.
This week is “Women’s Evolution Week” in WWE. The organization celebrates the past five years since the birth of the women’s revolution, as well as taking a look at the trailblazers and pioneers who paved the way for the women of today.
During Wednesday’s appearance on WWE talk show ‘The Bump’, McMahon reminisced about the female legends she enjoyed watching while growing up. She name-dropped Wendi Richter, Alundra Blayze, Bull Nakano & Miss Elizabeth.
“I remember watching Bull Nakano. I remember watching Wendi Richter. Alundra [Blayze], you know when she came in. There certainly weren’t many women to watch in the ring. And then of course Miss Elizabeth with Randy Savage. You know, Miss Elizabeth, I think stole everybody’s heart. But in terms of in-ring competition, there certainly weren’t a lot of women at that time to watch but I loved to watch them when they were in the ring.” McMahon said.
All four of the named women were certainly trailblazers for the WWE women’s division of today. Richter was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010, whilst Blayze was inducted in 2015. Nakano and Miss Elizabeth have yet to be inducted.
