GLOW’s cast & fans have started the #SaveGLOW hashtag as they campaign for Netflix to commission a movie in order to complete the story.
This past Monday, Netflix announced they have canceled highly-acclaimed women’s professional wrestling comedy-drama GLOW, despite already being renewed for a fourth and final season.
Fans of the show, as well as the cast themselves, are devastated and “heartbroken”, after already beginning filming for the fourth season in March before everything was put to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, Marc Maron, who plays Sam Sylvia in the show, took to his social media pages to suggest that Netflix allow for GLOW to go out with a two-hour movie in order to complete their story.
“I think what they should do is just, okay so you don’t wanna do the show anymore, but let us make a movie, right? Let us wrap it up in a two-hour Netflix movie. They had the whole season laid out. We know where it’s gonna go. Why don’t you give the showrunners and the writers and the cast an opportunity to finish the story in a movie, right? I mean I think that would be the best thing.” Maron said.
Maron’s fellow cast members, as well as fans of the show, are on board with the idea and have started the #SaveGLOW hashtag on Twitter as they campaign for Netflix to give GLOW the ending it deserves.
